“A life lived for art is never a life wasted.” - Macklemore

Back to drawing my portraits. This week it’s Macklemore. It really bothers me that he had one of the best albums of last year, topped the charts, and no one in my area knows him. Then again this is an area riddled with Chief Keef and Trinidad James among other subpar rappers on the radio. I really regret not find a picture of him with that dope tiger jacket haha. Maybe I’ll draw him again sometime.

This is also my first time actually experimenting with texture brushes. Never realized that you could change the direction of the brush to avoid patterning.

I have no idea where this came from. And because of that, I have no idea if I’m going to go over it with pens or color it digitally. Both maybe? Hmmmmm….I think my anatomy studies have been helping a lot a little bit. Anyways, I’ll have the finished one up one way or another.

Practicing in my sketchbook. I bought this sketchbook a few weeks back with gray pages in them. My only regret is that I didn’t get a bigger one.

This is a painting of my other half for our anniversary which is today [3.9.13]. I love this girl with all of my heart and this picture couldn’t even begin to describe how much I appreciate having her in my life. The ring that is around her is the promise ring that I gave to her when we first started dating. Anyone who can put up with me for longer than a month deserves the world and I plan to give her just that in due time. If you’re reading this Ivanna, I love you with ALL of my heart and I hope this love will continue for many many many years to come.

This painting was done in photoshop and it took around 13 hours.
